In 1999, a new two-storey annex building was inaugurated. This paved the way for the opening of the specialized specialized departments such as the Maternity Unit. The Nursery and Central Sterile Supply Room, Intensive Care Unit, Hemodialysis Unit, Operating Room Suites and additional Doctor’s clinics.
In May 2011, the Delivery Room and Maternity Unit was created as a separate unit/department form the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Nursery.
In its quest to provide the best care for mothers and their babies, the DR/MU spearheaded programs like Mother-Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative and the promotion of Exclusive Breastfeeding – becoming the first private hospital in Negros Occidental to be certified as a mother-baby friendly hospital.
With the plan to make the department an OB-Gyne Complex, orientation and training for Cesarean Section Operations and other OB-Gyne cases started on September 15, 2015. Another addition to the services offered by the Maternity Unit is the OB-Gyne Out-Patient Care Services which caters to all OB-
Gyne cases. As of the moment, the list of services offered by the department is growing and will continue to grow to offer the bacolenos and the surrounding islands convenient and quality care.
