History and Milestones
During the early years of then the Bacolod Sanitarium and Hospital, the Radiology or Diagnostic and Imaging Department was under the Clinical Laboratory headed by Mr. Asher Barrientos. The very first full time X-ray Technician was Carol Huilar.
The Radiographic Machine that was purchased last 1975 is still functional. As the hospital changes its name from Bacolod Sanitarium to Bacolod Adventist Medical Center and finally to Adventist Medical Center – Bacolod more machines were purchased and more services were offered by the Department.
The Department Managers
During the early years of then the Bacolod Sanitarium and Hospital, the Radiology Department was under the headship of Asher Barrientos, a Registered Medical Technologist also the Department Manager of the Laboratory Department.
Wilma Mamon- Geslani took over after Mr. Barrientos left for the United States and served the Radiology Department until the year 1987.
Annie Gutierrez, RRT, was appointed as Department Manager and served the Department from 1987 to August 2010 before she retired. During her leadership the Department was awarded as Department of the Year for the year 1996.
Saldo Mae Amarillo, RRT, took over from September 10, 2010 to December 2010.
Alex Geganzo, RRT, January 2011-December 2013.
Darryl James Arguelles, RRT, took over and served the Department from January 2014 to April 2016.
Presently, Leo B. Ordinario, RRT, was assigned as Officer-in-Charge last May 1, 2016.
